Laylatul Qadr Quotes, Wishes and Messages…
In the thirty days and nights of the holy month of Ramadhan, there is one significant night used to be eagerly awaited by the Prophet (SAW) and his companions.

It is known as the Laylatul Qadr or translated as the Night of Power. This particular night has an important history attached to it because it was the first time ever Jibreel (AS), the angel of Allah (SWT) sent the first revelation of Qur’an. The first verse was pronounced in a cave on Jabal Nur, the Mountain of Light. Prior to this time, the last holy book was Bible, sent to Isa AS, who is the son of Maryam AS.

Allah (SWT) had chosen the night of Laylatul Qadr to reveal the first verses of Qur’an to the Prophet (SAW).

Lailat-ul-Qadr is the crowning glory of the holy month of Ramzan. It is associated with the sending down of the Qur’an the last Book of Allah on His last Prophet Muhammad for the guidance of mankind. The Qur’an describes this Night. “We have indeed revealed this (message) in the Night of Power: And what will explain to you what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the Angels and the Spirit by Allah’s permission, on every errand: “Peace! This until the rise of Morn!”

The Prophet (SAW) doubled his efforts on the last ten nights of Ramadhan in the hope of finding Laylatul Qadr. This should be exemplary to us because even a man who is promised the highest place in the Paradise still had the determination to stay up all night and worship Allah (SWT).

Which Night is it? Although there are different reports in different traditions regarding the exact night, it is almost unanimous that the blessed night occurs in one of the last ten nights of Ramadan and more probably in one of the last ten odd nights i.e. 21st, 23rd, 25th 27th or 29th night.

Lailat-ul-Qadr Quotes, Wishes and Messages

Better than a thousand months: A thousand months are equivalent to 83 years and 4 months. Fortunate is the person who spends this night in prayer. The man or woman, who prays for the whole night during this Night, will deserve blessings and reward for the period as if he or she had been praying for eighty three years and four months consecutively. Since the Night of Power is better than one thousand months no one can actually measure the extent as to how much better it is.

There is no guarantee we will still be living to meet the next Ramadhan. Therefore, whatever age we are at this year, make a plan to include this in our ‘Things To Do’ list.

Laylatul Qadr is a gift from the Almighty. Thus, it is common courtesy to accept and cherish it. If you offer someone a gift and he turned it down, how would you feel? Hence, we need to appreciate and value the significance of the Night of Power.

It is truly beyond imagination how apparent and complete the special graces and mercies of Allahu Teala are on this ummah. Therefore, it would be utterly wrong to allow ourselves to be deprived of these great blessings at the expense of laziness and a few extra hours of sleep.

Laylatul Qadr is a night for us to look forward to. The serenity, peace and calmness of the night will give solace to our heart. Allah (SWT) is The Pardoner, The Effacer and The Forgiver. Prepare to reap all the benefits from this Night of Power. We want the same thing, to be forgiven for our sins and to be rewarded with a place in the Paradise. All we have to do is ask. This is evident by what He mentioned in the Qur’an, “Ask and I shall give.”

We are to forget our worldly problems and focus on repentance so that we too will be rewarded with a special place in the Paradise. Apart from that, hold your prayer beads tightly and say “Astaghfirullah” repeatedly until the dawn comes. Hopefully, Allah (SWT) accepts all of our prayers and by being humbly remorseful, He will forgive all the sins that we had ever committed.

Spend more time performing extra prayers, reciting and understanding the Qur’an and remember Him all the time.
