Islamic New Year Wishes, Quotes and Messages …
Islamic or Hijri calendar is a lunar calendar consisting of 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days.

The emigration of our beloved Prophet Muhmammad (Sm) from his motherland Mecca to Medina was the base of Islamic Calendar. The day of Hijri event is taken the first day of the Islamic Calendar. The first Islamic year begins in 622 AD.

In the Muslim Calendar all religious duties including prayer, fasting in the month of Ramadan, and pilgrimage, and the dates of significant events, and the celebrations of holy nights and festivals, are prepared following the lunar calendar.

Islamic New Year / Muharram is the month with which the Muslims begin their Hijrah Calendar. The first day of the year is observed on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar.

That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein.” [Qur’an Surah al-Tawbah 9:36]
