Arafah Day Quotes and Messages…
The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah is the Day of Arafah, since it is on this day the pilgrims gather at the mountain plain of Arafah, praying and supplicating to their Lord. In fact, one hadith says that ‘Hajj is Arafah’ (Abu Dawud). This means Arafah is the sum and substance of Hajj. It falls on the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah. For those wondering when is 9th Dhul Hijjah? It is expected to fall on 15 June 2024, although this is subject to the sighting of the moon.
The day of Arafah is also significant because this amazing ayah was revealed on this day:
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.” (Surah al Maa’idah 5:3)
Imam Ibn Kathir in his tafsir says:
“Imam Ahmad recorded that Tariq bin Shihab said, “A Jewish man said to `Umar bin Al-Khattab, `O Leader of the Believers! There is a verse in your Book, which is read by all of you (Muslims), and had it been revealed to us, we would have taken that day (on which it was revealed) as a day of celebration.’ `Umar bin Al-Khattab asked, `Which is that verse?’ The Jew replied:
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.”
Umar replied, “By Allah! I know when and where this verse was revealed to Allah’s Messenger. It was the evening on the Day of `Arafah on a Friday.”
Arafah Day Quotes and Messages
“Fasting on the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” (Muslim)
On the auspicious occasion of Arafah Day, I pray to Allah to make all your dreams to come true and to empower you with many opportunities.
On the occasion of Arafah Day, I wish Allah gives us the chance to perform Hajj in our lives and touch the Holy Kaba. Warm wishes on Arafah Day.
For the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, the Prophet (saw) recommended reciting tahleel (La ilaha ill-Allah), takbeer (Allahu Akbar) and tahmeed (SubhanAllah and Alhamdulillah, for example).
You can also say SubhanAllahi wa bi hamdihi, subhanAllahi-l ’adheem 100 times, as this particular dhikr washes away your sins.
There is yet another powerful hadith about Allah’s forgiveness on this day:
’Shaitan is not considered more abased or more cast out or more contemptible or angrier on any other day than on the Day of ‘Arafah. That is only because he sees the descent of the mercy and Allah’s disregard for great wrong actions. That is except from what he (Shaitan) was shown on the Day of Badr’. [Malik]
Arafat Day Quotes and Messages
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“On this day, Allah, the most Exalted, descends to the nearest heaven, and He is proud of His servants on the earth and says to those in heavens, look at My servants, they have come from far and near, with hair dishevelled and faces covered with dust, to seek my Mercy. Even if their sins are as much the sand or the froth of the sea, I shall forgive them.”
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said of the Day of Arafah dua:
“The most excellent dua is the dua on the Day of Arafah, and the best of what I and the prophets before me have said, is “There is nothing that deserves to be worshiped in truth except Allah, He is Alone and has no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is All-Powerful over all things.'” (Muwatta)
لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له ، له الملك ، وله الحمد ، وهو على كل شيء قدير
